I’ve been playing the PRS DGT for a few weeks now and what a guitar!
The specs are:
- Old birds
- Tobacco sunburst
- 2 x DGT humbuckers
- Coil tap
- Maple top
- Mahogany neck and body
- Nitro finish
From what I’ve read I got lucky with this one as it’s quite rare to get old birds on the DGT, given most outlets stocked moon inlays and that the birds have now changed to outlines.
I wanted something that sounded vintage (50′s PAF’s) and was comfortable to me as I had already traded another guitar to get this one. I am used to a Custom 24 so I knew I would be ok with this body shape. The DGT body is a little thicker than the CU24 and the neck feels fatter, but not as fat as a 50′s Les Paul. The other difference was the thicker fret wire, which makes bending a breeze and even on the 11′s that it came with I had no problems.
The first thing I did was to fit a set of 10′s and after a quick setup, it was playing like a dream.
In my opinion one of the best PRS you can get and with the option of the coil tap makes it really versatile.
If you are after a modern classic then check one out.

Hi,
Been looking for one like this for a while now. Would you mind telling me where you got it and if they had any more with the old-style birds ?
Cheers
E.
I got it from a great shop here in the UK called World Guitars http://www.worldguitars.co.uk
